Supervising Cost Analyst

Job Description and Duties


    A Supervising Cost Analyst with CosTrack Project Controls is required to fully understand and execute the duties of a Cost Analyst. In addition to the performance of a Cost Analyst, a Supervising Cost Analyst generally has many additional projects and years of experience working within the software and with our company clients. The Supervising Cost Analyst should have the ability to train and oversee the work of those less experienced employees around them and be able to produce a wider range of reports, a greater level of audit verification services and have a greater level of contact with our company clients. Oftentimes the Supervising Cost Analyst will be granted administrative privileges to the system software to be able to set up and support the employees around them.

Duties:

  • All of the functions and duties of a Cost Analyst

  • Have a good understanding of the variety of imports CosTracker recieves into the system and where this information comes from:
            - Purchase Order information
            - Work Order information
            - Punch Data

  • Have a good understanding of the variety of exports CosTracker makes to the contractor and the client companies with and for whom we work:
            - Financial information exports
            - Accrual information
            - Punch Data

  • Know how to set up a CTII work station at the client facility and make some basic connections to the client and company network:
            - Install a CTII work station and set up a new user
            - Make the ODBC connection to the punch data
            - Import from a P6 schedule (when applicable)
            - Provide a copy of the database to the company ftp sire
            - Sign into and work within the CostPoint Web Reporting site
            - Sign into, add, and gather information from the CostPoint SharePoint Site
            - Log into and reset the import computer (if applicable)

  • Develop many close relationships with the client companies and know who the important players are in the following departments and their relevant staff:
            - Procurement Manager
            - Maintenance Manager
            - Turnaround Manager
            - Capital Construction Manager
            - Financial Services Manager
            - Security Manager
            - Audit Staff
            - Safety Staff
            - Project Engineers and Managers

  • Develop many working relationships with the contractor companies and be able to work various issues with them to facilitate the flow of information into and through the system and to get them paid in the most efficient and accurate means possible
            - Contractor company timekeepers and office managers
            - Contractor company on site managers and leads
            - Company off site operations and financial service managers
            - Company off site managers
            - Company owners
